She attended rural school district #37 and graduated from Newman Grove High School in 1966. Prior to her marriage she worked at the Delay Bank and Roman Meat Packing in Norfolk, NE.
On June 21, 1969, she was united in marriage to Gerald Reiman at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer, NE. The couple lived on a farm northeast of Beemer until moving to West Point in 2010. For the last several years, Janet has worked at St. Joseph's Retirement Community in West Point, NE.
