Obituary for Carol Heller

Funeral services for Carol (Mrs. Nick) Heller age 53 of Wisner, NE will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wisner with Fr. Vincent Sunguti celebrating the mass. Interment will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., and will continue on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the service time at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wisner. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner is assisting the family with the arrangements..

Carol passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.

Carol Ann (Schmidt) Heller was born on April 25, 1965 at Yankton, SD to Mark and Dorothy (Hoebelheinrich) Schmidt. She grew up on the family farm south of Hartington, NE and graduated from Hartington Cedar Catholic High School in 1984. Carol worked in Norfolk, NE as a housekeeper at the Immaculata Convent for several years and also at the Uptown Restaurant.

On October 23, 1993, she was united in marriage to Nick Heller at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington, NE. The couple lived south of Wisner. Carol worked at the Wisner Care Center prior to being a stay at home mom to her two daughters. She later worked at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Rectory.

Carol was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, it’s Ladies Guild, and helped teach CCD. Carol loved to draw, going on walks, and her animals. She was a very humble person and cared for anyone she had met along the way.

Daughtes- Kate Heller of Omaha, NE
Jill Heller of Vermillion, SD
Father- Mark Schmidt of Hartington, NE
Mother-in-law- Evelyn Heller of Wisner, NE
Brothers- Kenny and Sheila Schmidt of Hartington, NE
Marty Schmidt of Hartington, NE
Sister-Gail and Guy Ormiston of Waxahachie, TX
Sister-in-law- Jeanie Schmidt of Maryville, MO
Carol is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother-Dorothy Schmidt, brother-Gerard Schmidt, and her father-in-law-Melvern “Butch” Heller.
